Author Peter Watt to visit Kempsey

Media release - 16 May 2017

Best-selling Australian author Peter Watt will be in Kempsey on Tuesday 23 May at 4pm to give an insight into his latest book, While the Moon Burns.

It is the eleventh book to be released in his hugely popular Frontier series, which is based in World War II and follows the story of the Duffy and Macintosh families.

A volunteer fire fighter for the NSW Rural Fire Service in his spare time, Peter has also been a soldier, a real estate salesman, a police sergeant and private investigator.

He speaks, reads and writes Vietnamese and Pidgin and currently lives in Maclean, on the Clarence River in Northern NSW.

"This visit is a wonderful opportunity for locals to meet one of Australia's great storytellers," Team Leader of Library Services, Angie Meers said.

"Peter brings history to life by creating characters we can all relate to. With such an interesting personal background himself it is sure to be a great event.”

Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night. For enquiries and to register, please contact the Library on 6566 3210
