Council is pleased to advise that a Local Heritage Assistance Fund has been established by Council with the aid of a grant from the NSW Heritage Office for this financial year.
There is a total of $10,000 in the fund for the 20011/2012 financial year made up of a government grant of $5,000 and $5,000 from Kempsey Shire Council.
The aim of the program is to encourage as much positive work on heritage items in our area as possible.
This program provides kickstart funding to encourage the joint funding of projects and in the process, it is hoped, this will engender interest and concern for conservation of heritage items within our area.
If you have a local heritage listed property or own a building in a Conservation Area and you need additional time in which to lodge your application please contact Kate Alberry on 6566 3200 but please be aware that the works are required to be completed by May 2012. |
