Turners Flat Road, Turners Flat - bridgeworks complete, roadworks in progress
Update No. 5 - 17 January 2020

Work to construct a new bridge over the Macleay River at Turners Flat has been completed. The new bridge is 144m long, two lanes wide and 1.8m higher than the existing bridge for better service during floods.

The project was undertaken for Council by Waeger Constructions. Roadworks to complete the approaches to the bridge were commenced by Council staff on 15 January and the bridge is now expected to be opened to traffic on 22 January.

During roadworks construction, when necessary the old bridge and approaches will be under traffic control during normal working hours and short delays may occur.

In the interest of safety, during the work a temporary speed limit will be enforced both during and after normal working hours. Motorist are requested to follow instructions from traffic controllers at all time when present.

Council appreciates the cooperation and support of local residents while these important works are carried out. For further information please contact the Customer Service Centre on 6566 3200
