Elbow Street, West Kempsey - changing traffic conditions
Update No. 2 - 21 September 2017

Roadworks in Elbow Street, West Kempsey are progressing. Replacement of kerb and gutter and footpaving is largely complete and work to install centre islands is expected to commence on 28 September (weather permitting).

The parking configuration west of Tozer Street will change to 90° centre parking and parallel kerbside parking on 28 September.

During the work traffic control will be in place as required. Motorists are requested to follow instructions from traffic controllers at all times. To avoid delays alternative routes should be considered where possible.

Willi Willi Road - temporary closure of Quarry Bridge
18 September 2017

Urgent repair work is required to be carried out on Quarry Bridge on Willi Willi Road at Temagog. Quarry Bridge is located 1.2km east of Temagog Road. The closure will be for up to three weeks commencing on Monday 25 September so as not to affect school bus services. During the third week from 9 October the school bus will be able to cross but the bridge will remain closed to all other traffic until work is completed. The bus company has been advised.

There will be no by-pass of the bridge. Residents travelling to or from properties west of the bridge should use Temagog Road and Armidale Road. Residents east of the bridge should use Turners Flat Road and Armidale Road or Willi Willi Road and Sherwood Road. Signs advising the closure have been erected at Temagog Road and Turners Flat Road.

Tozer Street, West Kempsey - roadworks in progress
Update No. 2 - 21 September 2017

Roadwork in Tozer Street, West Kempsey is progressing. Most of the work will not be undertaken until February 2018 but removal and replacement of the roundabout at Elbow Street has been completed. The next phase of work to repair the pavement at the intersection of Tozer Street and Marsh Street is planned to commence on 25 September and is expected to take two weeks.

During the work traffic control will be in place as required and short delays may occur. Motorists are requested to follow instructions from traffic controllers at all times. To avoid delays alternative routes should be considered where possible.

Stuarts Point Road - roadworks in progress
Update No. 2 - 21 September 2017

Roadworks in Stuarts Point Road between Lukes Lane and Browns Road are progressing. The initial bitumen seal has been completed between Lukes Lane and Mighell Road. Pavement widening is continuing between Mighell Road and Browns Road and will be extended to Hunters Road in due course. The work involves widening and rehabilitation of the road pavement, bitumen sealing and associated works. It will require the use of earthmoving plant and trucks and this stage is expected to take up to ten weeks (weather dependent).

During the work there will be short delays, temporary speed limits will apply and traffic control will be in place as required. Drivers are requested to obey the speed limits and follow instructions from traffic controllers at all times.

South Street, South Kempsey – roadworks commenced
8 August 2017

Roadworks in South Street, South Kempsey between Macleay Valley Way and West Street have commenced. The work involves removal and replacement of failed kerb and gutter, excavation and replacement of failed pavement areas, stabilisation, bitumen sealing, asphalt surfacing and associated works. It will require the use of earthmoving plant and trucks and is expected to take up to twelve weeks.

During the work vehicle access to businesses may be restricted intermittently and short delays to traffic will occur. Traffic control will be in place as required. Motorists are requested to follow instructions from traffic controllers at all times.

Nulla Nulla Creek Road - Bunghole bridge replacement delayed
Update No. 1 - 24 August 2017

Commencement of work to replace Bunghole bridge on Nulla Nulla Creek Road has been delayed and is now expected to commence on 28 August (weather permitting). The existing bridge will be demolished and a large concrete box culvert will be installed in the same location. A temporary vehicle bypass will be constructed around the bridge site while work proceeds. The work is expected to take up to four weeks.

The work requires the use of heavy earthmoving plant, trucks and cranes intermittently. Short delays can be expected at times. A 40km/h speed limit will apply at the site and traffic control will be in place as required. Residents are requested to drive slowly and obey the directions of traffic controllers at all times.

River Street, West Kempsey - roadworks nearing completion
Update No. 7 - 3 July 2017

Roadworks in River Street, West Kempsey between North Street and Elbow Street are nearing completion. Stabilisation and/or replacement of the failed pavement areas has been completed and an initial seal has been placed on the new pavement areas. A short section of pavement damaged by recent wet weather is being reworked. The final seal cannot be placed until warmer weather returns in September.

A dedicated right turn lane from River Street to Polwood Street will be linemarked shortly. The westbound bus stop and shelter is being relocated approximately 30m to the south. Some changes to parking will be required.

North Street, West Kempsey - roadworks nearing completion

Roadwork in North Street, West Kempsey between River Street and Tozer Street is nearing completion. Replacement of the failed pavement areas has been completed and an initial seal has been placed on the new pavement areas. The final seal cannot be placed until warmer weather returns in September.
