Transport

Kempsey Shire is ideally situated mid way between Sydney and Brisbane with easy access to the major east coast transport corridor and the North Coast railway line. This makes Kempsey a perfect location for businesses servicing regional and capital city markets, or for those looking to expand into other regional markets.

It is an 80 minute drive on the Pacific Highway from Kempsey to Coffs Harbour and a 35 minute drive from Kempsey to Port Macquarie.

The Pacific highway is currently being upgraded, with Kempsey in the process of being bypassed by a dual carriageway highway.

Two local bus services operate throughout the Macleay Valley and connecting the towns and villages with links to the railway station, business centres and schools.

Kempsey also boasts a small local airport, which is used for private flights. Port Macquarie airport is a 35 minute drive and provides daily commercial flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
