Belgrave Street in the CBD, Kempsey streetscape improvements
A project from the Kempsey Corridor Master Plan works
The Belgrave Street (CBD), Kempsey streetscape involves minor refurbishment as part of Council’s Kempsey Corridor Master Plan. Some work has already commenced with a section of the old clay pavers replaced at the intersection of John and Belgrave Street in November.
Works to be completed include replacing the existing clay pavers and bitumen footpaths with exposed aggregate concrete, landscaping the central medians with formalised pedestrian refuges to provide pedestrian safety and remedial works for the existing tree plantings.
The centre median directly adjacent to the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of John Street will be formed using removable bollards for access and bypasses during flood times.
The works are intended to commence in February 2016.
