Funeral Booking Facility

Council's Funeral Booking Facility has been designed to assist Funeral Directors servicing the Kempsey Shire area. This facility will allow bookings to be made online and an email notification forwarded to the appropriate Council officer. This is the first step in the Funeral Booking process.

The Funeral Booking Calendar displays all bookings that have been made. The colour coding shows the status of the booking - Blue indicates the booking is "unconfirmed" while Green indicates the booking has been confirmed by Council.

Funeral Directors must be registered to be able to make a booking online. Usernames and passwords will be issued upon application.

in town and out of town definitions for cemeteriesThe following parameters apply to funeral request bookings:

  • Maximum three (3) graves in one day "in town", providing that none of these are hand digs or "out of town".

  • Maximum two graves in one day, where one is "out of town".

  • Only one (1) grave per weekend or public holiday.

  • Minimum 24 hours notice, eg Monday grave needs to be advised on 11 am Friday for a 11 am Monday grave.

  • Coffin size / grave size is required within the 24 hours notice.

  • A Funeral Request Form must still be completed and faxed to Kempsey Shire Council.

  • Confirmation will be made by Council's Cemeteries Officer and a Tax Invoice processed.
