Be “BIG” – have your say in Kempsey’s future

Media release - 18 August 2011

Here is our chance - it’s our time to actively contribute to the future of Kempsey and its surrounding villages.

Bruce Potts, Bypass Strategy Coordinator said that “Kempsey Shire Council invites all community minded residents and groups to nominate for membership of the Kempsey Bypass Information Group”. The BIG!

It is hoped that the Group will be made up of representatives from the Chambers of Commerce, Stuarts Point and District Community Organisation (SPADCO), Macleay Valley Coast Tourism Association (MVCTA), Dunghutti Aboriginal Leadership Management Alliance (DALMA) and interested community members.

The purpose of the Bypass Information Group is to distribute information about the Council’s Bypass Strategy through the respective organisations and into the community prior to the opening of the Kempsey Pacific Highway Bypass currently scheduled for mid 2013.

The aim of the program is to collect the diversity of views and opinions on the project that will exist within the community with the objective of creating a very liveable and robust town centre and villages.

Don’t let this opportunity pass!
