Community Catch-up at Frederickton

Council will be holding the second of it’s Community Catch-ups at the Frederickton School of Arts Hall, 20 Macleay Street, Frederickton on Wednesday 28 February from 5pm-7pm.

The catch-ups involve Councillors and senior Council staff and are designed to give residents the opportunity to find out more about projects and priorities specific to their area of the Macleay while allowing for site visits and meetings with community groups.

Workshop for parents, supervisors and mentors of learner drivers

Kempsey Shire Council, with the support of NSW Roads & Maritime Services, will be delivering a free workshop for parents, supervisors and mentors of learner drivers at Kempsey Macleay RSL Club on Wednesday 7 March from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

The Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers workshop will be facilitated by Marilyn Breen, Council’s Community Projects Officer - Safety, and aims to help you feel confident teaching your learner driver by outlining how to provide safe and effective practice sessions and constructive feedback.

The two hour workshops will also include information about license conditions for learner and P plate drivers and tips for using the learner driver log book.

Rehabilitation works continue on Lachlan Street,
South Kempsey this week
  • Bridge construction/maintenance: General bridge inspections across the Shire
  • Flood mitigation maintenance: Commencement of Andersons Drain flood gate refurbishment; complete spraying of Miles Drain and Willow Drain
  • Drainage/kerb/footpath maintenance: Complete kerb and guttering, driveway hook-ups and pram ramp on Lachlan Street as part of rehabilitation works; continue works to driveways on Sherwood Road; complete kerb, guttering and backfill of Robert Eggins Street and Chifley Place
  • Bitumen road resealing/maintenance: Seal roadway edge parallel to new V-drain at East Kempsey Cemetery; complete sealing works in Frederickton, Gladstone and Smithtown
  • Bitumen road construction/rehabilitation: Commence bitumen works on Tozer Street
  • Gravel road resheeting: Commence resheet of Armidale Road
  • Gravel road maintenance grading: Toms Gully Road, O’Neills Access, Hughes Access and Upper Collombatti
  • Roadside slashing: South Kempsey area, Macleay Valley Way, Collombatti Road, Stuarts Point Road, Grassy Head Road
  • Other works: Continue demobilisation of South Street extension (from West Street to Gowings Hill Road); complete saw cutting on first section of Macleay Valley Way as part of concrete pavement repair works

A development application and accompanying documents may be inspected at Kempsey Shire Council, 22 Tozer Street, West Kempsey, any time between 8:30am and 4:30pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) during the exhibition period.

Any person may make a written submission to the consent authority in relation to a development application during the exhibition period. If a submission is made by way of objection, the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission. Please note that any submission received by Council may be made publicly available.
